Giving Bullet Proof Coffee a Try

There’s been a lot of talk about the Bulletproof Diet out there. I’ve been challenged with how to get rid of stubborn belly fat and gave it a try. What I had been doing was no longer working, and I joined a 10-day challenge group.

The diet helps people get rid of some of the unhealthy habits in today’s Standard American Diet. That means I had to cut out sugar, gluten, additives and colorings, grains and legumes and start eating only organic produce, grass-fed meat and healthy fats. It’s a tall order.

Like any eating plan, I believe in moderation and sticking with it without going overboard. And luckily it was only 10 days. It was hard.

But one thing I discovered during this 10 days was bulletproof coffee. And since I love my coffee, it was a no-brainer to give it a try. Simply mix a cup of coffee with Brain Octane Oil (an extract of coconut oil) and a tablespoon or two of grass-fed, unsalted butter or grass-fed ghee. Blend this all together until it’s frothy like a latte and enjoy!

Along with eating clean, this coffee is part of an intermittent fasting diet that supports a higher metabolism and helps burn more fat. You’re not reducing your calories, but shifting them so you’re giving your body more of what it needs to build muscle and support overall health.

But, like I said, it was hard. Before I started, I felt like I was wearing a fat suit. Sure, I was fit and strong. But I wasn’t as committed as I should have been to eating clean and doing what I needed to do. And I also had a layer of fat over my frame that I wanted to get rid of before Charlie’s Bar Mitzvah. I had 10 days to get where I wanted to be.

I pushed myself as much as I could for those 10 days and I really saw results. But then, we had family in town. There was a party. I didn’t fall too far off the wagon, but I did go a little crazy.

I’ve stuck with my bulletproof coffee though. It’s my treat, and I do enjoy the energy I get out of the natural ingredients. And it makes me feel like I’m doing something really good for myself (in addition to my workouts) each day.
