22 Minute Hardcorps Workout

Does Your Workout Make You Pee Your Pants?

I bought the 22 Minute Hard Corps workout when it came out. Not because I was planning to start it, but rather because I wanted to have it in the case I needed to support someone on the plan.

Being military-based and boot camp inspired, this workout program was far from one that I was interested in. That was until I was on a call with my team of coaches and 9 out of 10 of them said they were doing 22 Minute Hard Corps. What!?! Okay, I had to check it out.

Well Whatda Know – I’m a Fan of 22 Minute Hard Corps

Surprisingly, I really, really like the program. Partially because it is just 22 minutes. Who doesn’t have 22 minutes? That part is great. But, don’t get me wrong, it is HARD. Not just physically demanding, but mentally. In the beginning, I didn’t have the coordination to do most of the moves. You want me to move what with what? Fortunately, it is getting better, just needed to keep going. I’m still modifying some of the moves, but I’m definitely getting stronger, and more coordinated.

The TH (Tony Horton) Jumping Jack still proves challenging. Not for the reason you probably think. I can do these, but as a mom, jumping around has some serious drawbacks. About 10 jumping jacks in, I’m peeing my pants.

My husband joked that we’d be finding my workout wear in the Depends aisle at the store. I’m not sure I fully appreciate the humor, but I’m willing be to be real for all those other women out there that are avoiding jumping exercises. Here’s the upside, my “endurance” is improving for jumping. So, don’t be afraid ladies – jump in!

Cardio, Core & Resistance

Back to the workout program itself, it alternates cardio, core & resistance work. I’ve been using my dumbbells, but you can use your choice of resistance. It also comes with the Rations for Results nutrition plan. I haven’t dove completely into the meal plan yet, that starts this week (keep reading for why…). Fortunately it is container-based, which makes meal planning so much simplier. This is one of my absolute favorite features of Beachbody meal plans. The color-coded containers take guesswork out of making meals fast.

This week I’m getting started with my accountability group for the program, thus the reason for hopping on the bandwagon with the Rations for Results. I find these groups critical for my success and getting the most benefit from a workout program. Not only is it motivating to be doing it with other people (and knowing that I’ll be needing to check in with them), but also having a place to share my successes and my struggles makes the experience even better.
