22 Minute Hard Corps = Hardcore Results
As you know, I started the 22 Minute Hard Corps program a couple months ago. It’s military-based & bootcamp-inspired, which is not really my “thing”. I was unsure about liking the workout because I have no military background, I’m a Mom, “can I even do this?” was honestly my first thought.
However, once I got into it, I was pleasantly surprised that I actually liked it. Make no mistake, it was HARD but I got through it and came out stronger. And, I have to admit part of the reason I liked it was that it was an easy-to-fit-in 22 minutes.
Just 22 Minutes
Unlike some other programs, where the workouts get longer as you get into the program, this one stays at 22 minutes, which I appreciated. I liked that it pushed me, that it took me out of my comfort zone, but the exercises were still manageable.
The workout program alternates cardio & weights, and that is my preference. After Hammer & Chisel, I didn’t want to have to give up weights and just do all cardio. I realized that the weight element of 22 Hard Corps is similar to the first program I did, Power 90.
One of the aspects of 22 Hard Corps is that there is more cardio than I’d done in past programs. I felt that my body really responded to the cardio. Plus, I did more push-ups! That’s because there were modifications available for the push-ups, modifications I’d not seen before. I really liked knowing what I was doing each day, just 22 minutes and I can do 22 minutes. So, even though it was hard to get started, once I got into it, it went by quickly.
Easy to Follow Nutrition Plan
The Rations for Results nutrition plan was easy to follow as it is container-based, which makes meal planning so much simpler (very similar to the 21-Day Fix). This plan even suggests which containers to use for each meal.
I’ll confess that I strayed while on vacation but it was simple to snap back into the program once I got back home. You take a little quiz before you start and the result gives you a level and then the meal plans are based on whatever level you’re at.
Overall, I give this program a big ‘thumbs up’ and I would do it again. I would urge you not to pre-judge it. In fact, this is one of the workouts is available via On-Demand, so you can try it for free with an On-Demand trial. If you’ve done the 21-Day Fix, you’ll be able to get into the Rations for Results groove really easily. If you haven’t, it’s a good introduction to container-based meals and when you’re enjoying summer fun activities, having easy to put together meals really handy.
