Hanging Out with 25,0000 Friends

Every summer for the past 7 years, I’ve attended Summit. For anyone who doesn’t know, Summit is an annual conference for Beachbody coaches.  It started out being 250 people and has grown to 25K attendees this year. For those of us that have been doing this for awhile, the growth is exciting, but also can be logistically challenging.

Like any conference, there are educational sessions and speakers. However, since we are an organization about building health, there’s also workouts and a tangible focus on healthy living. Different people go for different reasons – some want to bond with their teams, some want to go for the recognition events, others want to be there for the live workouts and to meet the celebrity trainers.

Speaking of the live workouts, each year there’s a Super Workout for the whole conference. This year they closed down Broadway Street in Nashville so we could all work out at 6am. There was a gigantic stage and video boards every block! It was really crazy to see that many people, pretty much all 25,000 of us, working out together. All the trainers take part in leading the Super Workout. This year there were two new trainers, Joel Freedman & Jericho McDuffy. Their mixed martial arts workout, Core DE Force, is coming out in the fall.

Selfie with CarlThere were about 75 people from my team at Summit. With that many, it can be quite difficult to get to see everyone and spend time with them. To try to see everyone, I announced that I’d have a “prize” for those that sought me out. It was great to get a chance to meet my team members in person (we are spread out all over the U.S.) and get pictures with them. It’s always fun to get to spend time with the team and get to know people better.  The highlight of the conference for me was hearing from Beachbody CEO Carl Daikeler and having my team all together.

The Keynote Speaker was Gary Vaynerchuk (entrepreneur, investor, author, public speaker, and internet personality if you aren’t already familiar with him) and he was really incredible. All of the speakers were fantastic, and there were some really amazing coaches that spoke. It’s always motivational to hear what others have been doing that has worked for them and to get some great business-building ideas.

The Fixate TV show on Beachbody on Demand was announced, it will focus on recipes & inspiration that work with the 21-Day Fix. This Fix-approved cooking show will demonstrate how to prepare new healthy recipes aligned with the portion control container system. I’m really looking forward to that, because we all know I can always use more ideas on how to feed my family.

While I didn’t get all of my pics from Summit (dang technology and phone crashing), here’s some of the pics I got to take with my favorite people.
