Costco Food Hacks – Installment 2!

Anyone else addicted to Costco? With six mouths in our family, I feel like we’re always there. But with the large quantities that come with every purchase, it takes some creativity to use everything in a unique way so meal time doesn’t get boring.

Here, I have Part Two of my Costco “Hacks” for Busy Families (check out Part One here!).Costco Food Hacks

Organic Fruit

  • Frozen or fresh, organic fruit goes great in smoothies!
  • Ever tried blueberries or sliced strawberries on a salad? Yum!
  • Throw some fruit in a small Tupperware and your kids can enjoy them at lunch or right after school.

Field Greens

  • Field greens usually come washed, making them perfect for a quick, ready-made salad.
  • Add greens to your smoothies to get extra veggies into your diet.
  • Need more fiber? Greens are prefect for sandwiches and burgers!

Sun Chips & Goldfish

  • If the kids (or spouse) are always asking for chips, these two options are a healthier choice than Frito’s.

Quinoa

  • Super-quick to make, quinoa can be made ahead and stored in the fridge to quickly add as a side for dinner or in a breakfast bowl in the morning.
  • If you’re tired of rice, quinoa is a good substitute in your next batch of chicken teriyaki.

Baby Carrots

  • Add some veggies to your lunchboxes with these grab-and-go bags.
  • Baby carrots are the perfect after-school snack—no prep work necessary.
  • Now that the weather is (sort of) cooling down, make some soup and chop these for some extra veggies.
