I finished up Phase II of 80 Day Obsession recently and I’m still going strong. The more I’m in this program, the more I love it. It’s hard and pushing through has been really good for my mindset–I’m proving that I can still do it!
What I’m Loving
Traditional Beachbody programs repeat the same workouts over and over again. This makes them more familiar and it helps if you really want to know what to expect. But it can also get boring after a while.
I haven’t been bored at all with 80 Day Obsession. The fact that every single workout is different is what I love most about it. Some of the moves are familiar, but Autumn is always finding ways to add to them in a different way. So instead of just doing a chest press, we’re doing it in a bridge. This makes the move more challenging and interesting.
I’m also loving the group support–both in my own challenge group and in a coach’s group I’m part of. Many people have said that this is the best program they’ve ever used and they love how hard they’re working. People are motivated to stick with it, which means there’s a lot of success across the board.
What’s a Challenge
In Phase II, you increase your nutrition intake. I found it difficult to eat all the protein and veggies that I was supposed to. It’s a work in progress for me, but I’ve also not been 100% with my nutrition in other areas. I know that if I did, I’d have even better results
Two big things threw me off in this phase: Getting a puppy and a stomach bug. And both of those have been doozies. The puppy has made it difficult to get my workouts in early in the morning, and I’ve had a few sleepless nights when she first came home. We’re crate training, so it’s getting better! The stomach bug made the nutrition side hard, because there were days I didn’t eat nearly enough.
At the end of Phase II, I had lost 4.5 pounds and many inches. This was a bulk phase, so the goal was to gain muscle, not lose weight. My clothes are fitting even better and I feel more comfortable in my own skin. I can tell that some of my belly fat is gone and I can see more definition in my abs. Even better, I just feel stronger!
