Peloton Review

My Peloton Review

I promise I’m not cheating on Beachbody when I say this, but I just love our new Peloton bike! (Shhh…Don’t tell Joel and Autumn.)

Jeff had been wanting a Peloton for several years, so we finally broke down and bought one. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a high quality bike that has built-in accountability support and workouts.

Since we already had an exercise bike and Beachbody On Demand (plus Jeff has a membership to OrangeTheory), I didn’t really see the point in spending the money on it.

I finally broke down and agreed to it and I have to say…it’s like going from a trusty old sedan (our old bike) to a decked-out Mercedes (the Peloton).

And what do I think? Well, I already called it a Mercedes. It’s safe to say that I’m in love. Here’s why:

  • Live classes with real-time motivation. There’s always a class going on and if you miss the live class you wanted to attend, you can always watch the replay. Even better, those replays will still have people attending at the same time as you. It’s fun to see who else is taking the class with you! It motivates you to push harder and keep on going!
  • Tracks all your stats. You’ll know how far you’ve ridden, how many days in a row you’ve worked out, how much harder you’re pushing yourself and more. Peloton stores this information for you so you know what kind of progress you’re making.
  • Full of bells and whistles. You can attend in-person classes in New York City and also stay active when traveling to other destinations. Some hotels have Pelotons in their fitness rooms, so bring your shoes along and stay on track. Not only that, but you can choose scenic rides and experience trails that are far from home–so you can experience an area that you may never get to see in person.
  • No glitches and slick interface. Each bike comes with a large screen (bigger than my laptop!) so you can watch the workouts. And I have yet to experience a glitch where the system crashes.

All that said, I do sometimes feel like I’m cheating on Beachbody when I hop on. But I believe that if you want to stay true to your fitness goals, you need to do what works for you and what you love. I do love my Beachbody workouts; this just brings in another layer of cross training that I didn’t have before.

My official, quick review on the Peloton? Two thumbs up!
