My FamilyWhere do I start?

I am a 45-year old married mom of 4.  I love my family.  If you’re a mom, then you know kids and a spouse keep you busy. It’s easy to forget yourself in the process of taking care of your family. My mission is to help other moms take care of themselves so they can be more available to their loved ones and lead more fulfilling lives.

I wasn’t always fit.  In fact, until about 6 years ago I didn’t really know much about fitness or nutrition at all. During my journey of getting in shape and reclaiming myself, however, I have discovered that in order to be a better mom I need to spend a little time each day to take care of ME.  It may seem like a wild idea, I know, but it’s not so crazy when you look at all of the things that have come for me as a result:  I feel better, less tired, have more energy, crave less junk food, look better, treat people better, am a better mom and wife.  I am happier and so is my family. OVERALL it’s a WIN WIN!

There are no secrets or tricks.  They say that if you want to be something different, you have to do something different.  So, for me this meant spending 30 minutes a day working out with Tony Horton and the fitness program Power 90.  It is funny to think that a $60 workout video could change my life so dramatically.  But it did. I’d love to share my story with you in hopes of helping you see that if I can do it, so can you.

JumpI had just had my third child.  I was tired all the time. I was borderline depressed and just wanted to sleep when the baby slept. I knew that wasn’t normal, but I didn’t know what to do.  Thankfully, a friend told me about Power 90. Her results spoke for themselves, so I decided to give the program a try.  At first, I only exercised a few days a week with the videos.  I found them difficult and wasn’t really motivated.  I was still not sleeping through the night and I was frustrated. My wake-up call came when I looked at the pictures of myself from our family vacation. I couldn’t believe I had allowed myself to get to this point.  I was very unhappy with myself, but I was ready for a change.  I buckled down by  committing to “pressing play” 6 days a week with my Power 90. Slowly, I improved on my food choices, eliminating Coke, moving to whole grains, eating more lean meats, etc.  It was definitely a gradual learning process. After 4 months, I lost 21 lbs and a ton of inches.  My results motivated me! I wasn’t going to stop.

Now, I’m not saying it was easy. When I started out, I hated it so much.  It was DIFFICULT.  I struggled with many of the moves.  I could not keep up with the videos, but you know what?  I did my best and kept going.  I felt Tony Horton was kind and supportive, so I stuck with it. A big factor in my success was that I was able to celebrate the small successes such as going from 2 push-ups on my knees to 4, then from 4 – 8 and then to 2 on my feet and so on.  I could see that my stamina was increasing, too.  That was very rewarding.


The day I hit the pavement for a run (something I could not have done when I started) amazed me to no end… I ran for 25 minutes without stopping. It may seem trivial, but it was an important victory for me. This was GOOD STUFF this Power 90! I wanted to tell everyone what I was doing.  I had a 9 month old and was smaller than the day I got married.  I was so excited to share it with them and let them in on my little secret.

After Power 90, I moved on to P90X.  It was a natural progression since I enjoyed working out to Tony Horton.  The workouts became more intense but I was so ready for the challenge.  I embraced the whole experience.  I lost another 17 lbs and was more fit at 37 with kids than I had ever before been in my life.

It was about this time that Carl Daikeler, the CEO of Beachbody, opened up the coaching business opportunity to its customers.  It made perfect sense.  I was already telling everyone about the products and how they changed my life. Now I had the opportunity to earn some extra income just for sharing! In fact, people were coming up to me and asking me what I had done to lose the weight.  As a coach, I could then send them to my website and make a little money sharing the products that changed my life.  So, I decided to join Team Beachbody as a coach.  It was one of the best decisions I have ever made.  I now get to share something that is meaningful to me with others and get rewarded in so many ways.

I hope that many of you reading this can relate to something I have written.  I would love to hear from you.  Whether it is to talk about your struggles, share your successes or just simply allow you to ask me questions about my transformation.  It wasn’t anything that happened overnight. In fact, it took a lot of little things compounded daily over time.  Things that are easy to do – but also just as easy not to do.

I love helping others learn how Beachbody can change their lives, physically and financially. I have helped hundreds of other women who were in my similar situation get healthy and fit. Many of those women have also decided to mentor with me and build their own at-home fitness business.
